6 fake examinees caught on first day of board exam


Cuttack: On the very first day of the commencement of the matric exams conducted by the Board of Secondary examination, 6 impersonators were caught red-handed at Mahtab High School in Pallahara of Angul district.

As per reports, six students named Ajaya Kumar Nayak, D Santosh Reddy, K Nageswar Rao, Pradeep Kumar Das, Sunil Behera and Tapan Goud were issued admit cards for taking the correspondence examinations. When their admit cards were checked, the school authorities found that six impersonators had come in the name of the above six to appear the examination.

The school authorities immediately informed the police, who have detained all the six examinees. Preliminary examination suggests that they are residents of Ganjam district but their identities are yet to be established.

On the first day, a total of 6, 8,690 students appeared for the first language (MIL) exam at 2,938 examination centers across the state from 9 am to 11.30 am.

The BSE had made three-tier security arrangements to monitor and check malpractice during the examination. It has set up 295 nodal centers. Out of 295, there are 27 nodal centers in all the Maoists affected districts.

The exams would conclude on March 10.
