Bijapur: Four Maoists were nabbed and three firearms seized from them in Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh on Thursday, according to police officials.
Reports said the Naxals, belonging to Maad division of Maoists, were apprehended from Bedre area in the morning when a joint team of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) and district force was an operation, the officials said.
The officials said three weapons were also recovered from their possession.
According to reports, Naxals detonated an IED (improvised explosive device) in Narayanpur district under Bastar constituency in the wee hours on Thursday.
No casualty was reported in the blast, officials said.
Nearly 80,000 state and paramilitary personnel are deployed across the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency for providing security for peaceful conduct of polls. Seven candidates are in fray in Bastar constituency.
