24-hour Bolangir bandh ends

Bolangir: The 24-hour bandh observed by the Bolangir lawyers’ association on Monday demanding the establishment of the permanent High Court bench in the district ended today.

However, the district lawyers’ association has decided to keep court proceedings and government offices closed.

According to sources, the shutdown is scheduled to be observed till December 10. The irate lawyers will also stage a dharna in front of the Collector’s office.

Earlier on Monday, Bolangir lawyers’ association called a 24-hour bandh and resorted to ‘rail roko’ agitation at Bolangir railway station following which many trains were cancelled, partially cancelled and diverted.
