16 Maoists including two women arrested in Chhattisgarh
Malkangiri: As many as 16 Maoists including two women cadres were arrested in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Sukma district on Sunday, police said.
The extremists were arrested during a combing operation by security forces in Minipa forest in the neighbouring state.
The arrested rebels were allegedly involved in a deadly attack in Chintagufa police limits in Sukma district in which 25 jawans were martyred.
Notably, 25 CRPF jawans were killed and six wounded in the Maoist ambush in Kalapathar area in the south Bastar region within the Chintagufa police station in April 2017. The ambush is termed as one of the deadliest Maoist attacks on the security forces.
