Sonepur: Normal life was disrupted in Binika area of Sonepur district following a 12-hour bandh called by the local Congress activists.
The activists have called the bandh protesting the district administration’s apathy towards health care facility and filling up the post of doctors laying vacant in Binika Community Health Centre (CHC) and other hospitals in its vicinity.
Commuters had a tough time as vehicular movement came to a grinding halt after protesters started picketing from the early morning burning tyres at many important junctures of Binika town.
Educational institutions, business establishments and government offices remained closed following the bandh.
As per the report, tension swirled around in Binika in the last few days because of poor health care facility and vacant doctor posts at health centres in the area.
