12 hour bandh called in Baripada today

Baripada: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has announced a 12 hour bandh in Baripada today (Wednesday) to protest the alleged rise in drug peddling in the town.

Party activists have accused police and excise officials of turning a blind eye to the menace. The bandh call has found support from the local lawyers body. JMM District unit President Pintu Maiti said that the bandh will be effective from 6 am to 6 pm. Rise in drug peddling has led to an increase in criminal activities in the town. Local lawyers said they would boycott court proceedings to show their support for the strike.
