10-feet long female crocodile rescued from Kendrapara village


Kendrapara: A 10-feet long female crocodile with nearly 50 eggs was spotted at Arada village in Mahakalpada area in Kendrapara district on Sunday morning.

According to sources, a local had ventured to the nearby forest to collect logs when a 10-feet long female crocodile chased him. The victim rushed to the village and alerted the matter.

The villagers gathered and searched the crocodile in the area and they spotted the reptile near a bamboo bush along with 50 eggs. The locals captured the crocodile and informed the same to the forest department officials.

On intimation, a team of forest officials comprising Mahakalpada ranger Bijay Parida and staff rescued the female crocodile along with its eggs.
